Course overseeding has begun. The back 9 was completed and we look to have the front done Friday. Lakeside hopes to have green plush fairways through the winter in a effort to make your experience and great one.

Pro Tip Of The Day

Hitting fat shots is frustrating for everyone. We all have done it and some of us still do. One cause of this is dipping in the back swing. As you take the club back you dip just enough to return the club just behind the ball instead of on the ball. Try practicing your take away making sure your head stays at the same height. Good Luck and play well.

Pro Tip Of The Day

A lot of your power comes from the legs. Take note not to extend your right knee in the back swing. This can lift you out of position as well as rob you of power at impact.

Pro Tip Of The Day

If you find your self pull hooking the ball the most likely cause is your rotation. Make sure you rotate all the way through the shot. Stopping your rotation halfway through can cause your arms to continue on resulting in the pull hook.

For new players the golf course can be a long arduous task. Try having them play from the 100 yard marker their first few times out. This will give them the opportunity to practice the short game as well as their new swing. It’s not as much fun for the new player of course but, in the long run they will thank you. Also it helps speed the pace of play. Good luck and play well.

Pro tip of the day

Course management is a big part of shooting lower scores. Make sure you play within your ability. Sure it’s nice to make that impossible shot to brag to your buddies about but, sometimes it’s best to layup. Make the shot your comfortable making to help keep strokes from adding up. Then you can brag about saving par after a wild drive. Good luck and play well.

Thursday November 8th. To many people think that a sand wedge is just for bunker shots. The sand wedge should be used for sand shots as well as most pitch shots to the green.  The sand wedge whether a 54-degree or 58-degree has “bounce” on the sole of the club. Used correctly you will draw great results

Brass Boys Cup

Congratulations to Lakeside Country Club for winning the semiannual Brass Boys Cup.

Lakeside finished the final round of singles match play today pushing their points to 15 allowing

them to bring the Championship trophy home to Lakeside. Thank you to all the players for making

such a great tournament.

Lakeside leads with 9 points over Silver Spring Shores with 7.5. Citrus Springs Sits in

3rd with 4 points while Miona Lake trails with 2.5. Singles matches tee off at 09:00
